Frequently Asked Questions

Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is a natural, safe and effective way of opening the mind to make positive and beneficial life changes. With hypnosis, you can change old habits and patterns of behaviour; heal past hurts; discard negative beliefs and much more, to create a new lease of life that will enhance all your positive aspects. Hypnosis is a little like daydreaming or just before you fall asleep or wake up. You are totally in control and aware of everything that's happening.

The Hypnotherapist has been trained to help you communicate with your unconscious mind in order for you to achieve the changes you want. All good therapy is teamwork between the therapist and the client.

Is there any danger with Hypnotherapy?
No. You are in total control. You are fully aware of everything that is going on around you and you cannot be made to do anything that you do not want to do. In fact your senses will be more alert than they usually are.

What about my doctor?
Always continue to take your doctor's advice and medication and make sure to tell both your doctor and your Hypnotherapist about respective treatments.

Coaching

What is Coaching?
My role as a coach is to support you my client in realising and achieving your goals and true potential. As your coach I would look at where you are today and where you want to be. This can be in your personal life or professional life or both. Very often the two overlap but explained below are some of the differences

What is Corporate and Executive coaching?

This is where I facilitate the enhancement of work performance, and life experience that helps you to learn and develop, to improve your overall performance. As the coach I require knowledge and understanding of the process involved as well as a variety of skills and techniques that are appropriate to use in that situation.

Executive coaching is a one to one coaching session between the coach and usually a key person within the organisation that is designed to help individuals to develop rapidly. It is normally work related and is focused on performance, learning or behaviour of busy senior people in an organisation. This occurs in all different areas of business, government, educational sectors etc where there are multiple stakeholders and organised sponsorship for the coach i.e. whoever is paying for the coach to be there. Executive coaching is carefully tailored to meet the individual client's needs and is designed to be action orientated and goal specific. The objectivity and connection of an external coach is "key" to building trust, rapport etc in the individual executive.

When would you want an Executive Coach to work for you?

Critical events that shape the company's future can be better aided by external input. The following are typical reasons for adopting an executive coach.

  • To facilitate a new appointment of a senior person to a different position
  • To accelerate a "High Flyer" for fast track development.
  • To underpin effective implementation of organisational - change.
  • As a critical friend or an independent sounding board to a senior individual.
  • To support senior individuals following a 360 degrees appraisal

Corporate coaching is the catalyst that helps individuals, teams and or realise their performance and personal potential. Corporate coaching follows Management Performance Capability to achieve improved and sustainable results.

When would you enlist the help of a Corporate Coach?

  • Individual or team performance issues.
  • Individual or team changes in responsibility following down sizing.
  • For the development of Managers interpersonal skills.
  • To increase Management Performance Capability.
  • To improve personal effectiveness.
  • To facilitate organisational change more effectively.
  • To create a coaching culture in the organisation.

Business Coaching

Business coaching is designed to assist business people grow and achieve their personal and business goals. The coaching is focused on the individual and how they can leverage the business performance effectively.

Most business owners know their business inside out and back to front and are successful in some aspects; however, invariably they can be too involved with the day to day running of the business, to see the big picture. If they can work looking from the outside and not in the business then they can focus on the real key issues to grow and achieve their own personal goals. The role of the business coach is to help before it is too late.

When are you most likely to need Business Coaching?

  • When you want to take the business to the next big step.
  • When you have lost sight of the original dream/idea of the business.
  • When you want to make some major changes.
  • When you are bogged down with the day to day running of the business.
  • When you work excessive hours just to get the job done.
  • When you feel overwhelmed and at a greater level of stress.

What does Corporate Coaching /Executive Coaching do and how does it work?

My role as a coach is to support my client in realising and achieving their goals and true potential. In the business world the client may have issues relating to his work, his performance, other colleagues, his boss, stress, time management etc. As a coach I would look at where my client is today and where he or she wants be. To be an excellent coach you should be able to tick off all of the points below. The coach must:

  • Support their client
  • Establish rapport
  • Work in a climate of trust, honesty and openness
  • Listen
  • Use open ended questioning
  • Offer constructive feed back
  • Encourage the client to look at different options
  • Praise achievements
  • Help clients to understand their needs
  • Push the client out of their comfort zone
  • Become a sounding board for clients to develop their ideas and solutions
  • Raise the clients awareness
  • Encourage client responsibility
  • Clients need to explore their values and beliefs
  • Help the client to set their goals, and journey goals
  • Help the client to define their plan of action
  • Keep the client on track/li>
  • Be non judgemental
  • Remain completely confidential at all times

The work/life balance and time/self-management is important to all clients and maintaining a satisfying balance between work and private life is something we all strive to do. Some of the signs that a person is chronically "distressed" are constant feelings that everything is urgent. Racing through the outside world may well parallel what is happening inside the individual, as the body and mind are unable to keep up the pace. If this rings true as a description of a person's normal activities, they will benefit from learning how to manage their time, plan activities and set goals and fulfil them.
